Tentative Agreement Reached
On January 26, 2012 representatives of PAMF and ESC Local 20 reached a tentative agreement (TA) for a three year contract. The TA was reached after 8 months of tough negotiations with a management team, driven by Sutter Corporation, who was seeking concessions from all RNs and other workers from Mills to Alta Bates to Solano, Delta and Eden. Despite this intense opposition, your reps hammered out the best deal possible, acknowledging that concessions were inevitable. Enclosed is a summary of the TA, a ballot and ballot envelope.
A vote on the TA will be conducted on February 2nd, 2012. Voting by secret ballot will be conducted in person only at the following times and locations.
TIMES PALO ALTO FREMONT
Noon to 2:00 pm Cafeteria Cafeteria
3:00 to 5:00 pm Rooms B & C Administration Conference
Rooms-Jamplis Building Room 1, Building 2
Representatives of ESC Local 20 will be at both locations, to ensure you are fully informed, as you vote on whether or not to accept the TA. (They will be wearing bright blue ESC t-shirts)
• Please bring your ballot and ballot envelope to the voting place. (Extra ballots and envelopes will be available at voting places).
• You may vote at either location, regardless of where you work.
• If you cannot personally deliver your ballot at the above times/locations, you may have a coworker deliver it for you by following these steps:
a) Mark your choice on the enclosed ballot and seal it into the ballot envelope provided.
b) Place your sealed ballot envelope in a second envelope. Sign and print your name on this outer envelope. Your co-worker can then deliver this extra-sealed ballot for you.
Upon receipt, we will separate the outer envelope from your sealed ballot before depositing your ballot in the ballot box. The outer envelope will only be used to confirm your eligibility to vote. Note: A voting list will be at each location to verify your eligibility to vote and to ensure no one votes more than once.
The Union Bargaining Committee is recommending you vote YES. Regardless of the outcome, your committee deserves your unconditional recognition of the hard work and long frustrating hours committed to achieving the best deal possible on your behalf:
Nancy Weiss, Kristin Brunicardi, Trudy Stramel, Lynn Grassman
Substitutes were: Lynn Yen and Jennifer Wisefield
