ESC Local 20 condemns violent, hateful, and racist speech and actions, like that which occurred recently in Charlottesville, by white nationalists and other hate groups.
Equal rights are a fundamental principle of the Labor Movement and ESC Local 20. Respect and fair treatment for all people are core values that guide our work, whether it be our actions at the bargaining table and on the job, or beyond the workplace.
Specifically, our Constitution indicates the, “…support of equal opportunity for all without regard to color, race, sex, marital status, ancestry, national origin, creed, age, or handicap.” As an organization committed to social justice, will not tolerate discrimination, racism, or bigotry.
There is power in our numbers and shared values. In these times, it is more important than ever to know that we have each other’s back. We celebrate diversity in our society and in our workplaces, and we will remain ever vigilant to protect that diversity and to seek full equality for all people.
