WASHINGTON, DC – The 90,000 members of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) from across professions in the United States and Canada stand with Writers Guild of America members striking for a fair contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

“IFPTE members and Locals across North America are proud to stand in Solidarity with workers and their unions whenever they are fighting for fair wages and respect on the job, and the fight that WGA members are taking on now is no different. IFPTE stands with the WGA. The studios are making record profits off the work of writers while many are struggling to make ends meet. WGA members deserve a contract that provides them with a fair return on their work,” said President Matt Biggs.

“Writers are the latest group of working people to be undervalued and not adequately compensated due to corporate greed. Our members stand in solidarity with WGA members and demand the AMPTP agree to a fair contract with good wages, benefits, and working conditions,” said IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer Gay Henson.

IFPTE encourages all Locals and members to learn more about the WGA fight, and how to support WGA members at www.wga.org.
