We know that ESC members at PG&E like working remotely and want to continue. In our recent survey, 85% of the 2,200 survey respondents said they want three days a week or more of remote work. PG&E has already announced remote working will continue to be the norm at PG&E through the rest of 2021. But what will happen when COVID is under control to the point where employees may have the option to work in person or remotely?

For the last several months, we have been negotiating with PG&E on this issue. Your bargaining committee is working on an agreement for remote work post-COVID that will let members choose to work remotely — or not — and for equitable distribution of remote work opportunities within work groups. We are also seeking to ensure any agreement protects our hard-won contract provisions like travel time and meals.

Please join us for a webinar for further updates from our lead negotiators, John Mader and Joshua Sperry.  They will recap the status of the negotiations: what is being bargained, and what is not?  What is starting to emerge as the future of remote work?
