NOTICE OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR THE EXECUTIVE BOARD 2019

An active and engaged membership, committed member leaders, and democracy are all key to a strong union. ESC Local 20 works hard to provide many opportunities to participate, develop, and grow in these areas to ensure ESC Local 20 is the strongest voice possible for working professionals.

Nominations are now open for the following offices in the Union:

• PRESIDENT
• VICE PRESIDENT, Optometry Unit
• VICE PRESIDENT, Medical Professional Unit

Details of the duties and responsibilities of the officers can be found in the ESC Local 20 Constitution.

Nominations may now be submitted by a letter signed by no less than ten (10) members in good standing of the union and must be received at the union office no later than Tuesday, October 15, 2019. To be valid, nomination forms with the original signatures must be submitted. No facsimiles or emailed forms will be accepted.

Nominees for the Unit Vice President positions must be members of that unit and the members nominating the Unit Vice President must be members of said unit.  All ESC Local 20 members in good standing may vote on the candidates for all offices.

Nomination forms are available below or by calling the Union office at (510) 238-8320 and requesting a form.

If an election is called for, ballots will be mailed no later than Thursday, October 31, 2019.   Ballots must be received on or before 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.  The ballots will be counted on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. The ballots shall be opened and counted by an Election Committee following the close of balloting under the supervision of a neutral arbitrator.
