The extension goes into effect on March 15, 2021, and will extend the current contract for one year with the following changes:
|2.25% COLA (Cost-of-Living-Adjustment) Increase
|Increases salary scale.
ESC members will continue to move to the next step of the salary scale on their anniversary date.
Management will receive the same COLA increase.
|Senior Status Promotion Increases:
$3,000 for non-attorney staff
$5,000 for attorneys
|After three years of discussion, we have finally reached an agreement on this issue!
ESTIMATE: At least ten people will qualify upon ratification of this agreement and an additional twenty people will qualify over the next year.
Management has committed to processing promotions for those currently eligible within a month of ratification.
|No increase to employee benefit cost
|Employer benefit costs will increase roughly 10% over the next year.
|Two additional holidays:
|Veteran’s Day is no longer an observed holiday.
|One paid wellness day per month (for the length of this agreement)
|Institutionalizes a wellness goal in the performance evaluation process as a point of conversation.
|Intake staff titles will change after one year and again after two years
|Similar to the transition from Legal Assistant to Paralegal, this will reflect their growing expertise and career progression.
Centro management has also agreed to try to process the COLA and Senior Status Promotion within 30 days.
After one year, the current contract will expire and we can renegotiate other terms. We are hoping at that point Centro will be in a better financial position and we can discuss additional salary increases. Given the difficult financial updates we have been receiving over the past year, we are very pleased with this extension agreement.
