By a vote of 20 to 7, Sutter/PAMF Bay Area WIC APCs voted to maintain ESC Local 20 as our union to continue bargaining for a fair contract.

The positive outcome of this election shows Sutter that we are united in our efforts to secure the wage increases and working conditions we deserve. Let’s keep pushing!

We are continuing to work with the National Labor Relations Board on the Unfair Labor Practice charges we filed against Sutter. We received an initial offer from the employer to settle all charges – they offered a one-time 3.12% increase that is not retroactive, and provided no offer for 2022 raises.

While the offer is a start, we do not believe it goes far enough in remedying Sutter’s unilateral changes. We countered their initial proposal with both a retroactive raise and another raise to be implemented this spring. We are looking to secure more significant gains that bring all of us closer to being made whole.

The situation is still fluid for now and no decisions have been made. Once we hear back from the employer regarding our counter, we will hold a meeting for all WIC APCs to discuss how we would like to move forward.

Again, congratulations and thank you to all of you who made this victory possible. With an almost 3-to-1 showing of support for our union, we are more powerful than ever!
