All ESC Local 20 members should have received two wage increases in 2016: a 3% across-the-board increase when the contract was ratified in April and an increase as a result of moving to the new salary scales.

After months of actions and perseverance, ESC Local 20 members at Sonoma County secured a strong new contract. 3% COLAs plus additional equity increases for many different classifications coupled with major improvements to health care coverage and cost resulted in major improvements for members and their families.
Currently Clinical Lab Scientist members at Regional Medical Center are facing increased testing without correlating staff increases which could be putting patient care at risk. CLS play a vital role in quality patient care. Members are committed to not doing more than what would be safe for patients.

During the 2016 contract negotiations, CLS members of the Negotiating Committee won a new wage scale that values longevity by adding more steps. Congratulations to everyone who worked hard to ensure that ESC Local 20 members’ commitment and dedication to quality patient care in San Benito County is recognized and fairly rewarded.
Facing schedule changes brought forward by management, CLS members are working together through the Union to minimize the impacts of those changes. ESC Local 20 members are seeking a fair process that would allow members to bid on new schedules based on their seniority.
