The Electric Contract Management Department is voting to join with 3,700 other professionals and engineers in more than 200 classifications at PG&E who are part of ESC Local 20. Through a union we gain a real voice at work in our pay, benefits, and working conditions. Join us. Vote YES for ESC Local 20!
ESC and PG&E have agreed to extend LOA 20-04 for another 30 days – until the end of June. The LOA allows for hourly paid employees to work from home. It also specifies that when working OT meals, employees get the half-hour missed meal payment, but not the $15/20 meal reimbursement. So in short, all the current conditions will remain in place for another month. During that time, we will continue discussions with PG&E about the possibilities and processes for returning to the workplace and continued working from home. If you have thoughts or concerns around those issues, please contact your union representative.
98% vote YES to the PG&E contract extension agreement!
This Letter of Agreement replaces the previous LOAs (20-05 and 20-06) on double-time. Instead of double-time during overtime hours, this LOA provides for 10% premium pay for all hours (including regular hours) spent working at a PG&E office or in the field. This applies to both hourly-paid and monthly-paid employees.
The online voting to ratify the contract extension is now active. The voting period is 9 am Thursday, 4/2 through 5 pm Thursday, 4/9.

PG&E is looking to hire over 100 Engineering Estimators through the ESC Local 20 Hiring Hall. This is a terrific union job doing planning, design, and drafting for the PG&E electrical system. Engineering Estimators do job sketches, site plans and cost estimates for poles, wires, underground vaults and cables, and learn all the details of the electric system, as well as helping to coordinate construction work on the facilities.
This new LOA is an interim measure to address major turnover of New Business Reps in Service Planning. Click through to read the agreement and learn more.
