It is with a heavy heart that we express our deepest condolences to John Mader, President of Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Local 20, IFPTE, who unexpectedly lost his wife, Sandie, earlier this month.

Nominations may now be submitted for President, Optometry Unit Vice President, and Medical Professional Unit Vice President by a letter signed by no less than ten (10) members in good standing of the union and must be received at the union office no later than Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

Although this is concerning news for all of us and creates significant uncertainty, we want to remind all members that ESC Local 20 is engaged and committed to do whatever is necessary to protect the members and their families.
This is an extremely complicated situation and the way forward likely will not become clear for quite some
time. We want to assure all members that the Union is closely monitoring all developments and will work
tirelessly to protect and ensure fair treatment for our members, the professionals who operate the utility
system.
Casey Gagnon, a Gas Distribution Engineer based in our Sacramento office, passed away on October 22. Please consider participating in the vacation sale in his honor.
