PG&E Remote Work Webinar Report (5/12/21)
We were pleased to have such a high turnout at our Remote Work Negotiations Update Webinar on May 6th. While 500 ESC members attended our webinar discussing the status and outlook of Remote Work negotiations, we know many more who wanted the information could not. This recap covers the information presented during the webinar and is up to date as of May 12, 2021.
ESC holds KP Accountable to Shift Diff Improvements for CLS/MLT
On the eve of arbitration, Kaiser agreed to settle with the Union, acknowledging that the 2019 Agreement language on evening and night shift differential applies to CLSs and MLTs. The change in differentials should have commenced on April 11, 2021. Please check your paychecks and notify your union representative if the appropriate, higher differential does not appear.
New “Provisional Senior Estimators” Approved
Results are coming in from the new Letter of Agreement 21-05, which created the category of “Provisional Senior Estimator.” The joint Union-Company Estimator Training and Testing Governance Committee has approved the new title and pay rate to 11 current Estimators, based on their qualifications.
Home Health Therapy Predictive Guidelines Training
For five months, Home Health Therapists have been working in partnership with Kaiser to develop a Predictive Guidelines Training. We are pleased to announce the completion of the training video and guide which is intended to reduce work assignments that push many home health therapists beyond an 8-hour workday. The training should be reviewed by labor-management teams in local offices and used as an opening to discuss how much time visits and other tasks take.
ESC Saddened to Learn of Brother “Petey” Miskovich’s Passing
Long-time steward, bargaining team member, and overall staunch supporter of ESC Local 20, Pete “Petey” Miskovich will be dearly missed by his union family. Pete was a Principal Gas Mapper out of Sacramento and was always there as ESC’s “go-to” for gas mapping-related issues. There is no question his efforts benefited all ESC Local 20 PG&E members and resulted in more fairness in the workplace. We are so thankful to have known and worked with him.
Union Strong! President Biden Establishes Worker Organizing and Empowerment Task Force
The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers’ (IFPTE) executive officers applauded today’s Executive Order by President Biden establishing a White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment. “This latest news of the creation of a White House Task Force dedicated toward empowering working Americans seeking to organize unions and collectively bargain will ensure that this will continue to be a front and center issue for years to come.”

82.2% Vote to Approve 3-Year Contract at Washington Hospital
Your ESC Local 20 Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that your contract has been ratified with 82.2% yes votes! This contract achieves many key bargaining priorities, like 2.25% across-the-board wage increases and no healthcare take-aways.
2021-2022 Centro Legal de la Raza Contract Extension Signed & In Effect
Centro Legal de la Raza’s 1-year Contract Extension Agreement has been signed and is fully in effect! The agreement includes guaranteed 2.25% COLAs, senior status promotion increases, additional holidays, monthly wellness days, and more. Congrats to all!
