Washington Hospital Bargaining Update: Management Rejects Union Wage Proposal, Disrespectfully Offers 1%
Earlier this month, we proposed a 5% per year increase for 3 years — on Thursday, management REJECTED our proposal and only offered 1% for 6 months, then 0.5% for the next 6 months, repeated for three years. Over the next few weeks, we will continue to fight for a fair contract, and it is more important than ever to stay in contact, so be sure to sign up for important union updates today!

PG&E: Working From Home Negotiations Update
Our committee had our first meeting with management to develop a framework agreement about remote work once the COVID stay-at-home orders are no longer in place. The meeting was quite positive, and we are pleased that we have many shared interests with management. An ESC Local 20 survey shows that 85% of members who responded said they would like to work from home at least half the time, and 50% said they would like to work at home full time.
Executive Order 14003: Protecting the Federal Workforce
President Biden moved very quickly in repealing the union-busting, anti-federal worker Trump Executive Orders in his first couple of weeks in office. Read the recently released OPM guidance on implementing his reversals, which IFPTE views as yet another example of the President’s strong support for federal workers and their collective bargaining rights.
Centro Legal de la Raza: 2021 Contract Extension Agreement Ratified!
We are pleased to announce that Centro Legal de la Raza’s 1-year Contract Extension Agreement has been ratified and will go into effect on March 15th, 2021! The agreement includes guaranteed 2.25% COLAs, senior status promotion increases, additional holidays, monthly wellness days, and more!
Does Kaiser Really Think We are Heroes? Take Action and Let the CEO Know!
Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic turned our worlds upside down, and the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions pushed Kaiser to recognize the sacrifices of our unions’ healthcare workers with a Hero Bonus. Now, Kaiser is trying to short-change thousands of our coalition sisters and brothers, including ESC members, and penalize them for not meeting PSP goals they could not meet during a pandemic — take action today and tell Kaiser CEO Greg Adams that we will not stand for this!

As of February 23rd, the VA Northern California Health Care System is offering vaccination appointments to Veterans who are essential workers, regardless of age, including those working in the utility industry.
